Phillis' classes are "home-cook" friendly and teach techniques that easily adapt to other recipes. The end goal? To encourage students to have fun in the kitchen!

All Classes are demonstration classes held virtually on Zoom. Each class is $25. Click on the payment link (PAY NOW) and it will take you to paypal's payment portal — at this time you must sign up for each class individually. All classes are approximately 1 1/2 hours though may be up to 2 hours.
PRIVATE COOKING CLASSES
For a 3 hour private HANDS-ON cooking class for 1 to 3 people in your kitchen I charge a fee of $300 plus the cost of the food - you handle the clean-up.
For a 2 to 2 1/2 hour DEMONSTRATION cooking class for up to 12 (additional fee for each person over 12) are $500 plus $125 for my assistant plus the cost of the food - we clean up through serving dessert. Can be held in your home (or held at the Boys and Girls Club in Solana Beach or Encinitas for 20% more for the rental fee, or 30% more if held at the La Jolla Community Center - all locations have full demo kitchens.)
I will plan the menu with you, develop the recipes, print them so each person receives a copy, shop for all the food, set up, demonstrate how to cook each recipe, serve the food and provide an entertaining and informative event.
If you have a gourmet group, a birthday dinner to plan, a club meeting or just a bunch of friends who like to get together the demo classes are lots of fun. If you have a particular skill you want to learn or practice or if you want to brush up your cooking skills the hands-on classes are the way to go. The theme of the class can be anything really - Knife Skills, Easy Everyday Dishes, Grilling Techniques, Italian, French, Thai or Indian Cuisines, Cooking Fish, Cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres - I've even done a class on Cooking with Blue Cheese!

Once your payment is received, Phillis will send you an email within 24 hours confirming that reservation. You will receive the recipes and a reminder email 3 days before the class which will also include the Zoom sign in link. Be sure to print out the recipes and to download the Zoom app on your computer, laptop, tablet or phone so you will all set the day of the class.
The classes will be taped to make them available for those who cannot attend the live class or to give the attendees an opportunity to review the class for any tips they might have missed. If you cannot attend the live class and wish to purchase the taped class, simply register for the class as described. The price for this is the same, $25. I will send out the link to the video after the class is completed, either that day or the next. Everyone who has registered for the class will receive the link for the taped class whether they attend or not.
